Parents of an 11-year-old girl in Pakistan were arrested in connection with the "honor killing" of the young woman, a sentence reportedly carried out by stoning.

"Honor killing" is a practice among some extremist Muslim communities in which young women are killed for allegedly dishonoring their families in some way, often by engaging in romantic or sexual relationships with unapproved partners.

The girl's family allegedly told officials that the child had died by falling down a mountain. Authorities charge that the girl's father and four other relatives had conspired to murder her for an unknown offense.
