A faction of Boko Haram is believed to be responsible for the slayings of 110 Nigerian farmers in a single day.

The farmers were killed by gunfire in the village of Koshobe and in other communities near the city of Maiduguri. The farmers were shot while working in their fields.

The attack is thought to be the largest and deadliest by Boko Haram in 2020.

The Abubakar Shekau faction of Boko Haram is known for undiscriminating violence against people who do not strictly follow Sharia law. The Nigerian government has tried to stop Shekau and his faction from carrying out their acts of horrific violence, but has not succeeded.
