Nearly 20 Nigerians, among them seven Christians, were burned alive earlier this month in an attack carried out by nomadic Islamic terrorists in the central part of the country.
The brutal killing, perpetrated by Muslim Fulani herdsmen, occurred in the state of Plateau in the primarily Christian village of Hukke. Local residents were sheltering at home due to a coronavirus lockdown ordered by the government.
The village itself was reportedly left vulnerable due to the government pulling local security forces to help aid in coronavirus mitigation last month. At least 23 homes were burned by around 300 armed terrorists.
