At least one person was shot on Sunday night in Seattle's autonomous protest zone, marking the second shooting over the weekend.
The Seattle Police Department confirmed the shooting, adding there may also have been another.
Officers responding to the shooting said they were met by a crowd blocking their access to victims and that they had trouble getting to the scene.
Sunday's shooting follows the death of a 19-year-old man on Saturday, who was also shot inside the protest zone. "CHAZ," or Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone, was originally meant as a space for nonviolent demonstration.
Seattle police said last week that officers would only enter the area for "significant life-safety issues."
