A recently conducted Politico poll shows that 79% of Trump voters believe the 2020 election results are illegitimate.
When asked "Do you believe this election was stolen?" only 21% of self-identified Trump voters selected "No, the election results are valid" as their answer. The rest opted for the response, "Yes, illegal voting and fraud stole this election."
Among Biden voters, 88% responded that "the election results are valid," and 12% responded that the election was stolen.
The national poll was conducted online from November 10 through 19, and 1,500 voters participated.
The poll also asked whom participants would support as the Republican nominee for the 2024 election. Trump and Vice President Mike Pence, separately, were the lead choices. Next up were Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and former governor of South Carolina Nikki Haley.
More than a quarter of Democrat participants (28%) said they think Joe Biden should serve only one term as president, stepping down after that. Eighty percent of Trump voters believe Biden should do so.
