Roughly 9,000 pro-life activists turned out for Chicago's March for Life on Saturday, a prelude to the massive gathering that occurs annually in Washington, D.C.

The theme of this year's march is "Pro-Life is Pro-Woman." Speakers at the event included an abortion survivor, a local clergy member, and Rep. Daniel Lipinski (D-IL), among others. A gynecologist who spoke at the event told the crowd that, regarding abortion, "science is on our side."

Nearly 90 percent of academic biologists agree that life begins at conception.

🔦 The national March for Life occurs every year on or close to January 22, the day in 1973 when the Supreme Court legalized abortion nationwide in the Roe v. Wade decision.
