Shannen Doherty, best known for her role in the hit 1990s television show "Beverly Hills, 90210," has announced that she is fighting stage 4 cancer.
She revealed her latest cancer diagnosis in an interview with Good Morning America's Amy Robach.
"I don't think that I've processed it," Doherty said in the interview. "It's a bitter pill to swallow in a lot of ways. I definitely have days where I say, 'Why me?' And then I go, 'Well, why not me? Who else besides me deserves this?' None of us do."
Doherty, 48, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015. She underwent a single mastectomy, radiation treatments, and chemotherapy before reporting she was in remission in April 2017.
The actress has not disclosed what type of cancer she is fighting now. She told Good Morning America that she wanted to announce the news before it could come out through court documents filed on her behalf in a lawsuit against insurer State Farm. The lawsuit concerns State Farm's coverage of a fire that damaged her home in 2018.
