Steven Furtick, a pastor for a North Carolina church, will replace longtime Trinity Broadcasting Network preacher Kenneth Copeland, who has been with the network for more than 40 years.

Furtick, who leads a megachurch called Elevation Church, is known for preaching in casual clothing and sometimes presenting messages in a style akin to rapping. He also is featured on a podcast and Instagram account called "PreachersNSneakers," which highlights numerous different young pastors and their affinity for sneakers that cost hundreds of dollars per pair.

Furtick's program will replace "Believers Voice of Victory," which is led by Copeland.

Nate Daniels, marketing director for TBN, provided a statement on the move to Religion News Service.

"Just like the world in which we live, TBN is constantly evolving, seeking to provide exclusive programming that is uniquely built for the challenges facing Christians in this moment," he said. "As the leading global religious broadcaster, we want to provide our viewers with compelling and dynamic preaching, teaching, news, and entertainment."
