A husband and wife who had been married for 68 years both died within 24 hours of each other, ending nearly seven decades of marriage that began when the two were teenagers.
The pair, Robert and Corinne Johnson, married when they were both 19 years old. They lived within the same three miles in which they grew up, according to media reports. They had seven children and made a living as corn and wheat farmers.
Corinne died on November 24 after suffering congestive heart failure. Robert, who had been diagnosed with cancer, died the next day. Corinne's obituary said it was "only fitting that they would both pass into eternal life together."
