American pastor Bryan Nerren, a U.S. citizen, has returned home after being held for seven months on false charges in India.
The charges against Nerren have been dropped, according to The American Center for Law and Justice, which represents him.
Nerren was stopped last year on his way to a conference in India and questioned whether the money he was carrying would be used to support any Christian work. He was then arrested and detained in India on October 5, 2019.
The pastor has spent more than 17 years ministering to the people of Nepal and India, as well as training Sunday School teachers.
ACLJ said that the misunderstanding leading to Nerren's arrest could have been resolved within a few hours, rather than months.
Nerren's wife, Rhonda Nerren, said she is "so thankful for God's goodness."
Bryan Nerren posted similar sentiments, saying, "God bless the many good people of India."
