Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) raised $25 million in January, the largest amount his campaign has raised in a single month during the 2020 Democratic campaign.

The influx of cash, which was collected just prior to the 2020 democratic primaries, will be used to fund additional advertisements and to increase campaign staff in preparation for Super Tuesday during the first week in March.

The Sanders campaign said it will allocate $5.5 million for television and digital ads in 10 states that will be holding primaries within the next month, including the two biggest Super Tuesday participants, Texas and California.

Sanders entered 2020 with more than $18 million in campaign funds, the most out of any Democratic candidate, while President Trump entered the new year with more than $100 million.
