2020 candidate Bernie Sanders vowed this week to place freshman congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in a “very, very important” White House position if he is elected president.

During a joint interview with ABC News, the interviewer asked Sanders if he would install Ocasio-Cortez in a cabinet position if he is elected, and Sanders replied,

At the end of one year, she is a leader in the United States Congress and her ideas are resonating all over this country. If I am in the White House, she will play a very, very important role, no question.
