Democratic presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke compared President Donald Trump to Hitler this week, claiming it was a “comparison of last resort” and later defending the analogy on CNN.

O’Rourke compared Trump’s presidency to the rise of genocidal dictator Adolf Hitler, telling Wolf Blitzer on Monday: “Find me a better analogy.”

The candidate, who has consistently polled near the bottom of the 2020 Democratic field, also suggested that a recent Trump rally was “Nuremberg-like,” referring to the infamous Nazi rallies hosted in the 1920s and 1930s.
