President Joe Biden traveled via Air Force One to his home in Wilmington, Delaware, on Friday, despite his administration's health guidance that encourages Americans to avoid travel. The President said he'd be home for the weekend "to see my grandchildren and to hang out with Jill to get the rest of the stuff we have to move from our house to the other house."
White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki was asked on Friday about Biden's trip in light of the explicit warning against travel coming from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
"He is from Delaware and has a home there and is going to spend the weekend with his wife and family there," Psaki said. "The key is ensuring that people don't take steps to make others vulnerable in our effort to get the pandemic under control."
"As you know, any president of the United States, Democrat or Republican, obviously takes Air Force One, a private plane, when they travel."
Whenever any president travels aboard Air Force One, it is not a small or private affair. They are always accompanied by a large entourage of media, Secret Service, aides, and advance staff.
