Former vice president and current Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden has said that he will not voluntarily testify in the impeachment proceedings against President Trump, even though both Republicans and Trump have expressed their desire to hear from him.

"No, I'm not going to let them take their eye off the ball," Biden said Wednesday. "The president is the one who has committed impeachable crimes. I'm not going to let him diverge from that. I'm not going to let anyone diverge from that."

The impeachment inquiry was sparked by Trump asking Ukrainian president to investigate Hunter Biden, who served on the board of a Ukrainian gas company while his father was vice president and working on foreign policy in the country.

"I think the president has basically impeached himself," Biden said.

? Biden is currently on a "No Malarkey" bus tour through Iowa and says he has not watched Wednesday's impeachment hearing before the House Judiciary Committee.
