Former Vice President Joe Biden, the Democratic party's presumptive nominee for the 2020 presidential election, recently told a Miami television news station that if he is elected president, he would restore funding to the World Health Organization.
"Yes I will," Biden said when asked if he would restore funding. "But I'll also insist that we have — do what we were doing before. We had set up a pandemic office within the White House, President Obama. We had CDC…forward stationed in other countries to anticipate when we might see a virus coming, a pandemic coming."
? On April 14, President Trump announced he was suspending funding to the organization, saying it had failed in its handling of the coronavirus pandemic and was too friendly to China.
