Leading social justice and Black Lives Matter activist Shaun King posted to his 1.1 million Twitter followers Monday that statues, paintings, and stained-glass windows depicting Jesus as light-skinned should be torn down.

King tweeted:

? King, who identifies as black and used to be a pastor, came under fire in 2015 after it was revealed that both of his parents listed on his birth certificate are white. He responded by implying that his mother had an affair with a black man and that he is biracial.
