Boeing’s 777X, world’s largest twin-engine jet, completes maiden flight

In the wake of Boeing's disastrous 737 MAX saga, their new 777X — the world's largest twin-engine jet — has completed its maiden flight in a milestone for the company.

The plane's 235-foot wingspan is so wide that it features folding wingtips (shown in picture above) so the it can fit into airport taxiways and gates.

Regulatory scrutiny for the 777X is expected to be rigorous after two 737 MAX crashes killed a combined 346 people and internal company emails revealed employees boasting about convincing regulators to approve the aircraft despite significant safety concerns.
