Former Olympic athlete and reality television star Caitlyn Jenner announced plans to run for California governor on Friday.
Jenner is hoping to unseat current Gov. Gavin Newsom, who is currently facing a potential recall election.
Jenner's campaign team includes 2016 and 2020 Trump campaign pollster Tony Fabrizio and Trump White House and reelection campaign aide Steven Cheung.
Jenner also slammed "one-party rule" in a statement on the campaign's website.
"I came here because I knew that anyone, regardless of their background or station in life, could turn their dreams into reality," Jenner said. "But for the past decade, we have seen the glimmer of the Golden State reduced by one-party rule that places politics over progress and special interests over people. Sacramento needs an honest leader with a clear vision."
