U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts was hospitalized after sustaining a forehead injury during a fall on June 21, according to a source who talked with the Washington Post.
Roberts, 65, fell while walking at a Maryland country club near his home. An ambulance took him to a hospital, where he received stitches. The number of stitches has not been disclosed.
In a statement to Fox News, a Supreme Court spokesperson said Roberts was kept in the hospital overnight "out of an abundance of caution."
Doctors who treated the justice say the fall was likely caused by lightheadedness brought on by dehydration, rather than a seizure. Roberts suffered seizures in 1993 and 2007.
