The Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers will battle it out for the Lombardi Trophy in Super Bowl LIV after their dominating performances in the conference championships on Sunday.
In the early game, Chiefs' quarterback Patrick Mahomes helped his team overcome a double-digit deficit for the second week in a row after the streaking Tennessee Titans took a 17-7 lead.
After Mahomes' longest touchdown run of his career put the Chiefs on top at 21-17, they never trailed again. The Chiefs' defense held Titans' running back Derrick Henry to only 61 all-purpose yards after he amassed more than 200 yards in the previous two weeks.
The Chiefs went on to win 35-24.
The 49ers took care of business early, jumping out to a 27-0 lead at the half over the Green Bay Packers. Although Packers' quarterback Aaron Rodgers threw for more than 300 yards, the 49ers lead was too much to overcome.
San Francisco's offensive charge was jolted by running back Raheem Mostert who ran for 220 yards on 29 carries and 4 touchdowns.
The 49ers defeated the Packers 37-20.
Super Bowl LIV will be played at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida, on February 2, 2020.
