The Chinese government announced a temporary ban on foreign travelers on Thursday, a measure meant to prevent another coronavirus surge just as the country claims it has contained COVID-19.
The ban will go into effect on March 28 at midnight. The country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the nation will be reevaluating the ban as time goes on and new information about the disease comes to light.
? The country had previously instituted a major lockdown of the Hubei province where the disease originated, quarantining 59 million citizens as it attempted to get the spread of the disease under control.
