The communist government of China is reportedly demanding that Bibles in China be rewritten to adhere to communist ideology, according to news reports from the one-party country.

The government reportedly made the demands in order to bring all religions in its borders in line with "the requirements of the new era," referring to the rule of Xi Jinping, who has been president of the country since 2012.

Though the government is requesting that all major religions rewrite their texts to conform to Chinese communism, it has specifically signaled out the Christian religion, stipulating that "Jesus Christ's parables" will have to be re-done in order to avoid being purged from future Chinese editions of the Bible.
