Climate envoy John Kerry became the first senior Biden administration to travel to China, in addition to being the first to connect with other world leaders.

Kerry reportedly is attempting to convince China to set more ambitious climate goals, as well persuade Chinese President Xi Jinping to participate in a virtual climate summit happening in mid-April.

The former secretary of state has also met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, French President Emmanuel Macron, U.K. Prime Minister Boris Johnson, Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, and UAE Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed, among others.
