CNN on Tuesday settled a lawsuit brought by Covington Catholic High School student Nick Sandmann, one of the numerous young men who were falsely accused of harassing and accosting a Native American man in Washington, D.C., one year ago.

Video clips of the exchange between the Catholic students and the man, Nathan Phillips, went viral after they appeared to show the young men having surrounded the elderly Phillips, with media claiming that the boys were taunting him and jeering at him. Full video of the incident showed that Phillips had actually approached the boys and confronted them, incorrectly believing that the students had targeted a nearby group of black activists.

Sandmann sued both CNN and The Washington Post for publishing reports about the event that mischaracterized Sandmann's behavior. The amount of the settlement between CNN and Sandmann was not immediately disclosed. The suit against The Post is still proceeding.
