An association of more than 50 left-wing organizations is discussing and preparing a variety of strategies for potential responses to the results of the 2020 election.

According to a report by The Daily Beast, a recent virtual meeting of the group, which calls itself the Fight Back Table, included discussions of how to initiate large-scale public civil disobedience if it believes Democratic nominee Joe Biden has won the election, but President Trump is contesting the result.

"It is very obvious that Trump is laying the groundwork for claiming victory no matter what," said Rahna Epting, a participant in the call and the executive director of a group called MoveOn.

Another, unnamed participant told The Beast the group is concerned about the possibility of "armed right-wing" activists going to polling sites and attempting to intimidate people into not voting.

"I don't know what the strategy is when armed right-wing militia dudes show up in polling places," the person said. "This [Kyle] Rittenhouse guy is being lionized on the right, right now. If it is being unleashed that you can shoot people and be a hero, I don't know what preparation we can possibly do for that."

The individual said Fight Back Table wants to figure out how to "occupy s---, hold space and shut things down, not just on Election Day but for weeks."

Reportedly, Fight Back Table discussions also have included talk about a strategy where some states secede from the United States if certain demands are not met. Such demands could include dividing California into five states to increase its number of senators, adding Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico to the Union as states, and eliminating the electoral college.

A group called the Transition Integrity Project is creating and analyzing various election scenarios and insists that after the election, Trump and his allies will be "consistently more ruthless than Team Biden."

A report from Transition Integrity Project also encouraged the group to consider how to respond if Trump orders the military to "confiscate 'fraudulent' ballots," freezes opponents' assets, or classifies documents.
