Amber Share Design

Raleigh, North Carolina, resident Amber Share is an illustrator and designer who has embarked on a passion project with a unique twist.

She's always wanted to draw all 62 U.S. National Parks but wanted to approach it in a unique way.

Share decided to incorporate one-liners from one-star reviews left by visitors into her illustrations of each park as her way of "putting a fun and beautiful twist on the negativity."

And she absolutely nailed it! Have a gander at the first 15 entries in her "Subpar Parks" project. If you don't at least smirk, you have no sense of humor ?.

Sequoia National Park

Bugs? ? ? In the wild? You don't say! I'm sure they'll bite you elsewhere if you're not careful where you sit. ?

Yosemite National Park

I absolutely hate all the gray rocks and ? in the forest (definition: "a large area covered chiefly with trees and undergrowth"). The audacity!

Grand Canyon National Park

"A hole." Now THIS is a very astute one-star review. Jolly good show, old chap! ?

Joshua Tree National Park

To be fair, there are trees to walk around as well. I mean... it's in the name...

Isle Royale National Park

Apparently people hike the National Parks solely to change the scenery in which they check Instagram. But who am I to judge?

Grand Teton National Park

I think the phrase this reviewer is looking for is, "All I saw was a NATIONAL PARK."

Saguaro National Park

Who doesn't like a nice ? at the home of the nation's largest cacti? Perhaps this reviewer spells cactus with a "palm" and a "tree." Again, not judging.

Yellowstone National Park

Phew... Money saved. Thank you for this cooking tip.

Arches National Park

At first glance, I thought this was a drawing of a nice pair of orange pants. I, too, was disappointed that it looked nothing like the license plate.

Glacier National Park

This one needs zero commentary. Moving on.

Zion National Park

Perhaps they were expecting the Ents from The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers.

How's that for personal scenery?

Olympic National Park

Someone was expecting Taylor Swift to rise out of the waters to give the best darn performance of her life.

Great Smoky Mountains National Park

No completely sure how to respond to this one... ?

Death Valley National Park

Well, what did you expect? ☀️ ? ?

Capitol Reef National Park

Can something be "somewhat" bland? Asking for a friend.

This has been a Comedy Break. Now back to your regularly scheduled news.
