Proctor & Gamble said it would erase the feminine Venus symbol from Always-brand products after transgender activists claimed the symbol was non-inclusive of variant gender identities.

P&G said it would eliminate the downward-facing Venus symbol from its wrappers starting in December. The symbol has long been used to represent women.

The Daily Mail reported that some feminists intended to boycott the product line in response, claiming Proctor & Gamble was heralding the “elimination of women’s biology.”
