Conservative activists Jacob Wohl and Jack Burkman said they are organizing a rally in Washington, D.C., on Saturday to protest stay-at-home orders put in place due to the coronavirus pandemic.

"We are taking to the National Mall," Wohl, 22, said Friday. "We're having a mass gathering there in protest of the draconian and really horrifying response to the so-called pandemic."

Wohl said the response to the pandemic is "100 times worse than the virus." Both Wohl and Burkman said the event would pull tens of thousands of protesters.

There are currently nearly 240,000 confirmed cases of the coronavirus in the United States, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The death toll is currently 5,443.
