After Democrat Beto O'Rourke openly mocked Texas Gov. Greg Abbott's decision to reopen the state's economy amid the coronavirus pandemic, Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) responded to the former congressman's tweet.

On Friday, O'Rourke reacted to a tweet by Abbott, who called the state's reopening plan "Safe, Smart, and Strong."

O'Rourke retweeted Abbott's message with one of his own saying, "Dangerous, dumb, and weak."

Cruz quickly snapped back.

Crenshaw jumped in to point out that O'Rourke's comments were not referring only to Abbott but also to Texans.

In another tweet, O'Rourke accused Crenshaw of "getting rich selling his own book to the GOP" while Crenshaw's opponent in the general election, Democrat Sima Ladjevardian, was busy helping save lives.

Crenshaw had a response of his own, attacking O'Rourke one last time for calling Texans "dumb and weak."
