During New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo's daily briefing on Friday, he reported that the state's coronavirus hospitalizations are at their lowest point since the pandemic began.

Cuomo also said the state's number of daily deaths is trending downward. Of the 109 deaths on Thursday, 82 were in the hospital and 27 were in nursing homes.

New York also has more testing capacity than people coming to get tested, Cuomo added. Some drive-in sites that are able to conduct 15,000 tests a day are only administering 5,000.

The state has yet to allow testing for people who are asymptomatic.
