Just minutes after the U.S. Senate confirmed the nomination of Amy Coney Barrett to the U.S. Supreme Court, Democratic lawmakers publicly renewed their calls for adding justices to the nation's highest court.
At 8:06 p.m., Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) wrote that the Senate had confirmed Barrett's nomination. Just seven minutes later, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) posted her own message.
A few minutes after Ocasio-Cortez's initial message, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) also posted "Expand the Court."
Sen. Ed Markey (D-MA) echoed the representatives' sentiments with a tweet of his own.
