Despite headlines over the weekend claiming the contrary, billionaire Bill Gates is reportedly not buying a futuristic, hydrogen fuel-powered superyacht.
Claims reported over the weekend said that Microsoft founder Gates had a business relationship with design firm Sinot and had pledged more than $600 million to "order" a superyacht the firm was designing. The firm showed a 370-foot concept yacht called Aqua in 2019.
Sinot posted "Aqua not sold!" across its website early Monday morning.
"These articles are factually incorrect," the company said, adding that it does not have a business relationship with Gates nor has the yacht been sold to him.
The yacht in question is a luxury ship that will be powered entirely by liquid hydrogen, meaning that its only emission is water.
