The country music trio Dixie Chicks has officially changed its band name to The Chicks amid ongoing protests against racial inequality.
On Thursday, the band changed its social media handles from @dixiechicks to @thechicks and updated its website.
The group did not offer much of an explanation for the name change other than a short statement on their website that reads, "We want to meet this moment."
The Chicks also dropped a new music video of their song "March, March."
? Earlier this month, fellow country band Lady Antebellum announced that it changed its name to Lady A for similar reasons.
