An elder of the Early Rain Covenant Church in China has reunited with his family after eight months in prison. Li Yingqiang was among 100 church members and leaders arrested in raids last December.
Although back home in China’s Hubei province, he is out on bail and must regularly report to the local police station.
Other members of the church are still imprisoned, including Pastor Wang Yi, whose home was raided on December 9. Media reports said that Communist authorities are planning to charge him with “inciting to subvert state power,” which carries a penalty of 10 years in prison.
