Elon Musk revealed early Friday morning that he had taken four COVID-19 tests in a single day and received split results, with two returning positive and two negative.

One user asked Musk if he believed inaccurate results might be why the U.S. has seen a spike in cases in recent weeks.

A PCR molecular test is more accurate than rapid tests that are more prone to false positives, such as with Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine in August.

Musk also indicated he was experiencing "symptoms of a normal cold."

Outspoken anti-Trump doctor Eugene Gu suggested that if the first two tests were the negative ones, Musk may have not yet crossed the threshold of active virus in the body needed for a positive test, but this theory has not been validated by Musk.

🔦 Multiple users replied to Musk's comments with similar stories of their own where multiple tests had returned different results.
