It's time for an Entertainment Break, and what a glorious one this is.
I happened to stumble across a video of the first time Pastor John MacArthur and California Governor Gavin Newsom (then mayor of San Francisco) squared off. It was in 2004 on CNN's "Larry King Live" and J-Mac, well, devoured him.
Here's the video:
When MacArthur first appeared on the screen looking like this, you knew it was already over for Newsom:
Also, even 16 years ago, Newsom exuded that "Disney villain" vibe. And when he pulled the "I'm a practicing Catholic, don't you question spiritual credentials" card, MacArthur had the killshot ready:
"As a practicing Catholic, do you believe the Bible is the word of God?"
Checkmate. Cue Newsom squirming. So much squirming. It's uncomfortable to watch.
What a glorious video.
