At Kanye West’s “Sunday Service” in Detroit on Friday, Pastor Adam Tyson of Placerita Bible Church was given the stage and preached an impassioned 12-minute salvation message to the thousands in attendance and the many streaming the event around the world.

Tyson quoted the Bible throughout the mini-sermon, which could perhaps be aptly summed up by a line from the close:

“This is the message that we bring to you: God is holy. We’re all sinners. Christ came so that you could be born again and have a new life — only by his blood, only by his sacrifice — and through his resurrection you can say today “Here am I, Lord. Send me.'”

? It is remarkable that a celebrity as prominent as Kanye West would give a platform to an evangelistic Christian message this bold. West’s wife recently said he had been “born again,” and on Saturday the rapper announced that he would no longer make secular music.
