Facebook considering hiding the Like counts in its news feeds.

The social media company confirmed to TechCrunch that is considering testing removing Like counts from posts. It did not reveal its exact motives or a schedule for when it would start testing.

Instagram, which is owned by Facebook, is already testing the concept in seven countries. It shows the audience only friends who have liked the post. Instagram’s move is a bid to prevent users from comparing their engagement to others and encourage them to share more.

Facebook is currently prototyping hidden Likes count in its Android app, according to TechCrunch.
