The private Facebook group of the primary teachers union in Los Angeles told members to not post Spring Break photos while the union fights to keep schools over alleged safety concerns, according to screenshots obtained by local Fox anchor Bill Melugin.

"Friendly reminder: If you are planning any trips for Spring Break, please keep that off of Social Media," said the post. "It is hard to argue that it is unsafe for in-person instruction, if parents and the public see vacation photos and international travel."

United Teachers Los Angeles (UTLA) has continued to lobby for schools to remain closed due to COVID-19, with members overwhelmingly voting last week to keep students home until the union's demands are met.

🔦 The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has said that schools are safe to reopen as long as recommended sanitation and distancing guidelines are met.
