Federal investigators executed a search warrant on Wednesday on former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani in connection with the Ukraine investigation.
Federal authorities are investigating whether Giuliani violated the law in 2019 by lobbying the Trump administration on behalf of Ukrainian officials. The Foreign Agents Registration Act requires people to notify the State Department if they are acting as a foreign agent.
Several electronic devices, including laptops and cell phones, were seized during the raid, according to Giuliani's attorney Robert Costello.
"This is totally unnecessary," Costello told Fox News, saying that the raid was meant to "make him look like he's some sort of criminal."
