The tech giant Google is facing an antitrust probe from nearly every attorney general in the United States — fifty in total.

The probe is meant to investigate “Google’s dominance in the ad market and use of consumer data.” The company is already facing an antitrust investigation by the Department of Justice.

If Google is found to have engaged in anti-competitive behavior, it “could be compelled to make its algorithms friendlier to rivals even if it eats at its own profits,” as well as possibly jettison whole divisions such as YouTube.
