Teachers in Florida are now permitted to carry firearms on school grounds, part of a new law that implemented a “Guardian Program” in the sunshine state.
More than half of the state’s school districts are participating in the program. “Guardians,” as they’re called, must pass an extensive list of requirements, including 144 hours of training and a drug test.
The two largest school districts in the state, Miami-Dade and Orlando, have not joined the program.
