According to a new poll, the George Floyd protests have garnered increased support for former Vice President Joe Biden over President Trump in the 2020 presidential election.

A new Morning Consult poll, which surveyed 1,624 registered voters between May 31 and June 1, found that 45% of voters were more likely to vote for Biden as a result of the protests and riots ignited by the death of George Floyd.

Among black voters, 70% said they were more likely to vote for Biden, placing the former vice president 64 points ahead of Trump.

The poll also asked respondents how they would describe both Biden's and Trump's handling of the Floyd protests.

  • "Excellent, very good, or good" - 32%
  • "Fair or poor" - 56%
  • "Unsure or Indifferent" - 12%
