Slamming the site for "several shocking cases of sex trafficking and child rape" in recent months, an activist with an anti-sex-trafficking organization has called for the shuttering of pornography giant Pornhub.

Laila Mickelwait, the director of abolition of the anti-trafficking group Exodus Cry, wrote in The Washington Examiner on Sunday that the hugely popular website has "no system in place to reliably verify the age or consent of those featured in the pornographic content they host."

She cited the appearance on the website a 15-year-old girl, "who had been missing for a year was finally found after her mother was tipped off that her daughter was being featured in videos on the site — 58 such videos of her rape and sexual abuse were discovered on Pornhub."

In another instance, a woman discovered videos of herself being assaulted, sometimes while unconscious, when she was just 14 years old.

Mickelwait in her op-ed called for closing down "super-predator site Pornhub and hold[ing] the executive megapimps behind it accountable."
