The former Dallas police officer who fatally shot her unarmed neighbor in his apartment has been found guilty of murder.

Amber Guyger, who is white, was convicted Tuesday for killing Botham Jean, who is black. Guyger accidentally entered Jean’s apartment, thinking it was her own after returning from a long shift. She was off-duty but still in uniform.

Guyger's defense said the shooting was a "tragic, but innocent" mistake. Guyger said she feared for her life when she entered what she thought was her apartment.

Prosecutors questioned how the former cop had missed multiple signs she was in the wrong apartment.
