The former chief White House doctor of President Barack Obama has spoken out about his worry regarding the mental health of former Vice President and Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden.

Dr. Ronny Jackson, who served from 2013 to 2018 as Physician to the President under both Obama and Trump, says he watched Biden's decline during his time at the White House.

"Speaking as someone who was in the White House, saw him frequently around the West Wing and other places like that, I know he's always been prone to gaffes, but these aren't gaffes anymore," Jackson said. "He can't form sentences. Sometimes, he can't complete a thought."

Jackson, who is also a retired Navy Rear Admiral and recently won a Republican congressional primary in Texas, made the comments to Donald Trump, Jr., as part of the latter's upcoming book, "Liberal Privilege: Joe Biden and the Democrats' Defense of the Indefensible."

"I mean, he gets stuck, and he doesn't know how to get out of the situation that he's in," said Jackson of the former vice president. "And he just finally has to give up."

Jackson said he could not make any specific diagnosis, however.

"I won't make any particular diagnosis about dementia ... but what I will say is that something is not right," he said.

Jackson, who went on to say that he is "not comfortable" having Biden as his Commander-in-Chief due to this cognitive decline, also accused the media of a double standard when covering Trump and Biden's health.

"To my knowledge, the president has never made one single flaw in anything he said that would ever lead anyone to believe that he has any cognitive issues whatsoever," Jackson said. "Vice President Biden does it every single day. So much so they won't even let him speak anymore! And nobody says a damn thing about it. It's crazy; it's hypocrisy at its highest."

? While Biden's personal doctors have released statements declaring him in good health, his mental faculties have regularly come under scrutiny in recent months.
