Mike McCormick, who worked as stenographer to then-Vice President Joe Biden from 2011 until 2017, says the Democratic nominee for president is "not the same Joe Biden" he knew and served.

"It is a complete difference from what he was in 2017," McCormick told the Washington Free Beacon. "He's lost a step and he doesn't seem to have the same mental acuity as he did four years ago. He doesn't have the energy; he doesn't have the pace of his speaking. He's a different guy."

McCormick's job working for Biden was to transcribe Biden's speeches and conversations with media members and foreign dignitaries. He said Biden has deteriorated notably since leaving public office.

McCormick said Biden read his speech for the 2020 Democratic National Convention "verbatim," in contrast to his former style of frequently departing from prewritten speeches and connecting with audiences "straight from the hip."

? In February, McCormick released a book called "Joe Biden Unauthorized: And the 2020 Crackup of the Democratic Party."
