NFL on Fox commentators Joe Buck and Troy Aikman were criticized last Sunday after they were caught on a hot mic slamming military flyovers before football games as wasteful.

Immediately preceding Fox's "game of the week" between the Packers and Buccaneers, the U.S. military conducted one of its fan-favorite flyovers. Right after it was completed, Aikman sounded off on how wasteful he finds the spent jet fuel.

AIKMAN: That's a lot of jet fuel just to do a little flyover.

BUCK: That's your hard-earned money and your tax dollars at work!

AIKMAN: That stuff ain't happening with [a] Kamala-Biden ticket. I'll tell you that right now, partner.

The two commentators were quickly denounced online by many who deemed the remarks disrespectful towards the military, as well as uninformed. Military flyovers count towards mandatory training that pilots would be required to complete regardless and are also reportedly beneficial to Air Force recruitment.

Neither Buck nor Aikman have yet responded to the incident.
