France has cut its forecast on economic growth as the nation begins a new four-week lockdown.

The new GDP growth forecast is down to 5% from 6%. In 2020, France had an 8.1% economic contraction as a result of similar lockdowns.

As part of the lockdown – which began Saturday – the European country will impose a 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. curfew, close schools, and shutter 150,000 stores.
